Weather Update
We got power back last night about 9. No internet connection yet... but I can deal with coming into town for a few more days. Over 100,000 were still without power in our section of the U.S. this morning. I hope people will use the emergency shelters that have been set up. Several have died, and dozens others are in the hospital from trying to heat their homes with charcoal grills inside or generators in unvented garages.
Another storm is due to come in this evening, with more wind. I am really hoping that it won't be as bad as this last one. But -- we are prepared if we need to, and can stick it out another 5 days without lights if we must.
Hoping all those who read this blog will have a pleasant solstice, whether you are celebrating the return of the light in the north, or looking forward to cooler temps in the south.
