Garden Time
Time in the garden has its own flow and ebb. Today is an "ebb day" since it is raining and I have whatever virus du jour was brought home from school.
Still, I look out my window and as the blooms on the heathers fade -- the darker purple first turning to rust and the lavender ones will follow later -- the elderberries are putting out lovely bright green leaves at the tips of the branches. There are more daffodils blooming daily, and the gooseberry has big, thick, juicy-looking buds all up and down the stalks.
Time in the garden emerges from the quiet stillness of winter and bursts like a supernova this time of year. Suddenly we can see something new in every corner of the yard several times a day! Soon the ground will be dry enough to work and the planting, weeding, watering, waiting and harvesting will begin.
